Mirko Gaul was born in Cologne. Since 2009, he has been working under Michelin-starred chef Nicolas von Auersperg at the Taku restaurant in the Excelsior Hotel Ernst in Cologne. This restaurant was awarded a Michelin star in 2011.
Just one year later, Gaul took over management of Taku as chef de cuisine at the age of 27. His lasting creativity and the richness of imagination that he brings to the Asian cuisine of Taku certainly contributed to his promotion. For Calmund and Creutz & Partners' guests it was a pleasure to get to know Gaul's culinary artistry.
